EDUCATION IN INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING

Today we are facing an era in which we must hold a firm view of our future society. Not only as one country but on a world level, we can't help witnessing and listening to many matters, and thinking about them. Ichijo's international education is giving hints to our young people of how to build that view. Over the years Ichijo has paid attention to the strength of education in international understanding. the picture of lesson in l.l.roomThere are two important facts supporting this. One is the acceptance and dispatch of exchange students. The second is our International Understanding Events Program. Ichijo's exchange students enjoy to the full Japanese student life, while learning, and chatting with other students, in the gymnasium, on the playing field, in the school grounds, and in the classroom. The students also learn a great deal from the exchange students, widening their range of vision, expanding their dreams and wings to the outside world. And now send our students to these countries.

Interanational Understanding Events

During the International Understanding Events, we have met with people from, Asia, Africa, South and North America, Oceania and Europe, guests of many colors from almost every corner of the globe, deepening our international understanding and encouraging international friendship. Ichijo is an international school opening windows widely to the outside world. This is how our students can naturally acquire an international feeling. The following are some of the past events:

Students Exchange Program

Since sending an A.F.S. exchange student to the USA in 1959, we have sent a total of 282 exchange students to various countries, and in exchange have received 196 students from various other parts of the world. We can't overestimate the importance of the role this program has played in the international understanding education of Ichijo. Thanks to this program, we think we can contribute somewhat to the promotion of better mutual understanding between Japan and many other countries. Details of this are on the following table:
